🎰 What to Bring
A guide to what is welcome — and what is not allowed — in our homes. When in doubt, ask us first.
✅ Suggested Items to Bring
- Clothing for daily wear, exercise, work, and meetings
- Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, etc.)
- Prescribed medications — must be in original containers with your name on the label
- Notebook, journal, or recovery literature
- Small personal items that support comfort and routine
- Important documents (ID, insurance cards, etc. — if you have a car, bring valid driver's license, registration, and insurance)
- Cell phone and charger, earbuds/headphones
- Reusable, insulated water bottle
- Bicycle or electric bike
- Food and snacks, laundry detergent, and other personal supplies
Bed linens, pillows, and towels are provided. We recommend bringing only what you can comfortably carry and store in your personal space.
📦 Please Limit What You Bring
At Horizon House, space is shared and intentionally simple. To keep the environment comfortable, safe, and clutter-free for everyone, we cannot accommodate large amounts of personal belongings.
We ask all members to bring only the essentials. We do not have storage space for extra boxes, furniture, or large personal items.
Anything beyond basic daily needs should be stored off-site with family, friends, or a storage facility.
Bringing too much creates safety issues, crowding, and unnecessary stress — and we want your transition here to feel calm and manageable.
If you're unsure whether something should be brought, ask us first. We're happy to help you figure out what's necessary and what's better kept elsewhere.
🚫 Do Not Bring
- Alcohol, drugs, or paraphernalia of any kind
- Weapons of any kind
- Large electronics or gaming systems
- Excessive cash or valuables
- Products containing alcohol (mouthwash, NyQuil, hand sanitizer, cooking ingredients, etc.)
- Inappropriate clothing (with offensive language or graphics)
- Pets
These guidelines exist to ensure safety, accountability, and a supportive environment for all members. This list is a summary — full house standards apply.
